Discover Snorkeling

Learn the skills you'll need to feel confident snorkeling. This course is for all age levels, however, children 12 and younger must have a guardian register & participate.


Discover Scuba Diving

This course is an introduction to the world of scuba diving and will prepare you for the Open Water Diver Scuba Certification course. This course is for ages 12+, however, youth 12-14 must have a guardian register & participate.


Open Water Diver Scuba Certification (SDI)

Successful completion of this course will allow you to dive independent of an Instructor or Dive Master anywhere in the world! This is a two-Part course.


Part 1 (Pool & Classroom Training at the LRC) 

First, the pre-study, which includes online presentations, readings, review questions, and videos (approx 5-6 hours). Then you'll join us in the classroom where we'll review key concepts and knowledge review questions (5-6 hours). We will finish in the pool, learning important scuba diving skills, including a swim & float test. This course includes all necessary equipment and training materials and you receive 25% off  gear purchase at The Dive Outfitters. 


Part 2 (Open Water Training) 

Choose from a Local Certification or an International Referral. In both cases, you will experience a skills evaluation win an instructor from Jasper (Local Certification) or an Instructor from your winter vacation anywhere in the world (International Referral). The Local Certification can only be completed during the summer months and includes 4 dives over the course of 2 days. This will include the use of all necessary scuba diving equipment and upon completion you will receive your certification card. Cost for the Local Certification is $250 per person. For the International Referral, costs and available gear will be set by the international dive shop or organization in which you choose.

Many different options are available when choosing a location to complete your open water training.

  • Jasper during the summer months (June to September) with our instructors
  • Twin Lakes (near Winfield) during the summer months (June to September) with our instructors
  • Vancouver Island - Victoria all year round with our resident instructor
  • Vancouver Island - Nanaimo all year round with Nanaimo Dive Outfitters instructors
  • Internationally* - anywhere in the world all year round with an instructor at the dive shop of your vacation destination
