Leduc Census

The City's 2023 census is now complete. Thank you for participating. Summary results will be shared with the community later this year.

There are many benefits to conducting a census. Population count, for example, supports key capital projects like fire halls, road repairs, recreational amenities and water/sewer line upgrades. Most recently, census information has helped us achieve financial support needed to complete upgrades at the Leduc Recreation Centre, roadway and alley reconstruction, expand Leduc’s Protective Services Building and purchase a new fire engine.

Summary results from previous municipal census' is available.

Census FAQs

How much does the city invest into conducting a census?

The city invests nearly $60,000 to host a census, which that amount can decrease as more and more households participate online reducing the need for enumerators going door-to-door.

What is the typical participation rate for households completing their census online?

In 2018 and 2019, 48 per cent of households completed the census online.

How often does the City do a census?

A municipal census is completed every other year, except for election years. For example, the next census would normally be 2025, however that is an election year so the census will be completed to the following year.
