City of Leduc: Success Lives Here

Wednesday, December 2, 2020

The Economic Developers Alberta (EDA) Award for Business and Investment Attraction (BIA) for a mid-size community is the latest feather in its cap for Leduc’s ‘…Lives Here’ campaign focusing on opportunity, innovation and growth for economic development within the Leduc region. This recent award-win was announced during the virtual Economic Developers Alberta (EDA) Annual Conference at the Minister’s Dinner and Awards Banquet, Nov. 26, 2020.

“We’re immensely proud of our team and this accomplishment, during such a challenging year especially in the area of economic development,” says Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “Between our economic development team and marketing services, Leduc’s ‘…Lives Here’ campaign is a milestone success, sharing our story that we’re the right place to do business.”

Leduc concentrated its efforts to better support new and established businesses, from industrial, commercial to Leduc’s small business community, by enhancing permitting processes, inspection services, and setting competitive and attractive taxation rate for non-residential development; all while maximizing Leduc’s connectivity to air, rail and road transportation. This campaign highlighted the numerous benefits of relocating and operating within the City of Leduc, which was enhanced through testimonials from local business people throughout the community.
