Mark your calendars: Holiday Happenings around Leduc

Tuesday, November 23, 2021

With a bit of sparkle and a few traditional sweets, Holiday Happenings is your community listing for great outdoor seasonal events leading up to Christmas to help spread a little cheer and safety for all.

HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS

  • Nov. 27, 7 p.m. Santa Claus Parade hosted by the Downtown Business Association

  • Dec. 3, 7 to 9 p.m., Candy Cane Checkstop hosted by City of Leduc Enforcement Services on 50th Ave. with their event partners of Leduc Fire Services, Leduc RCMP, Leduc and District Victim Services and MADD – Edmonton Chapter

  • Dec. 11, 2 to 6 p.m. Santa Claus Drive-thru hosted by the City of Leduc. This event is FREE and registration is required.

  • Dec. 10 to 31, community voting takes place for Light-up Leduc

These seasonal events are designed with residents in mind, offering plenty of Santa opportunities for the young and old, along with sweet treats and promoting safe travel whether it’s local or afar:

The Candy Cane Checkstop is an annual campaign promoting safe choices when getting behind the wheel on the topics of distracted driving, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving with reduced visibility due to snow/ice on vehicle lights and windows, and the hazards of not driving for road conditions.

The Santa Claus Drive-thru was such a success in 2020, it’s back for 2021 offering free registration per household. It’s a great alternative from the traditional Santa Claus visit for children and youth accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Please register to secure your timeslot.

For more information on these events and more, please visit our ‘Event Listings’ at Leduc.ca or call 780-980-7177.
