Mayor Bob Young celebrating young leaders in Leduc

Monday, February 3, 2020

Young leaders in Leduc will be honoured once again this year through the third annual #influencers awards. Nominations are now open for deserving young residents currently in grades 9 through 12 who demonstrate positive qualities such as integrity, mentorship, trustworthiness and volunteerism.

“Leadership comes in many forms, and we look forward to recognizing the incredible youth in our community who embody those ideals again this year,” says Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “The #influencers awards are about showing our appreciation for the unique and valuable contributions made by our young residents.”

Nominations for this year’s awards will remain open until May 31. Nominations can be submitted online by anyone who knows a young resident who makes a positive impact on their families, schools, neighbourhoods, or friends. All nominees will be invited to a youth-focused celebration hosted by Mayor Bob Young in the fall.

“Last year, we were thrilled to receive nominations from teachers, parents, coaches, neighbours, and classmates recognizing a terrific group of young people,” says Young. “We encourage anyone in Leduc – no matter your age – to help us recognize our young leaders by taking a minute to submit an online nomination.”
