Monday, Aug. 9

Youth Council Clean-up

Leduc Youth Council encourages all residents to give a hand in helping to keep our community clean and enjoyable for all.  Register to be a volunteer and join us as we clean up Fred Johns Park. Attendees will be entered into a prize draw worth $150.

Tuesday, Aug. 10

Youth Bootcamp

Join this fun cardio and strength bootcamp class just for youth that can be modified to any fitness level.

Time and location: 10-10:45 a.m. | LRC Track

Youth Shinny

Pre-book your spot 72 hours in advance on the app. Goalies can also permitted to pre-book on the app.

Equipment Requirements: CSA certified hockey helmet with full face mask, skates, neck guard, hockey pants, support cup, hockey gloves, shin/elbow/ shoulder pads, regulation hockey stick.

Time and location: 5:15-6:15 p.m. (ages 13-14), 6:30-7:30 p.m. (ages 10-11), 7:45-8:45 p.m. (ages 15-17) | LRC Arena
Cost and registration: Free with youth membership or daily admission | First-come, first-serve

Community Helpers Workshop Day 1

Community Helpers program offers training and support to strengthen the natural abilities of young people (grades 10 to 12) in their helping role with their peers. Helpers will learn and develop a variety of skills including effective communication, self-care, coping with stress, and more.

Time and location: 12:30-4:30 p.m. | Leduc Civic Centre
Cost and registration: Free to attend | Register by Aug. 3 by emailing FRN@leduc.ca  

 

Wednesday, Aug. 11

Toonie Swim

Youth Only Toonie Swim with a DJ. Youth ages 12-17 are welcome to come take a dip in the outdoor pool for only a toonie while enjoying the live music.

Time and location: 6-8 p.m. | Alexandra Outdoor Pool
Cost and registration: Cost: $2 | First-come, first-serve

 

Thursday, Aug. 12:

Community Mural Project Workshop

Participants will learn about the history and culture of street art and how it connects to muralism, learn how to spray paint from pro, AJA Louden, and contribute ideas to the final mural. Workshop includes all paint and materials, and the take-home Aerosol Academy workbook. Youth can choose one of the two timeslots to attend.

Time and location: 11-1:30 p.m. & 2-4:30p.m. | Leduc Arts Foundry

The second day of the Community Helpers program for attendees.

Book your spot for two-hours of free ride time at the House of Wheelz. Check out their website for appointment scheduling and waiver requirements. Space is limited book early!

Free Tickets to the Movies

Go for the popcorn, stay for a show at Leduc Cinemas. First 50 tickets on Saturday and first 50 tickets on Sunday for youth ages 12-17 are FREE! Pick your movie and hurry over!

Time and location: All day (or till gone) | Leduc Cinema

Cost and registration: Free 50 tickets each day | Drop by in-person to first-come, first-serve
