Community Volunteer Income Tax Program
Canada Revenue trains volunteers recruited by Family & Community Support Services to prepare simple tax returns. This program was created to help low income individuals and seniors complete their income tax return at no cost.
For assistance with your tax return, or to find out if you are eligible for the program, call FCSS at 780-980-7109. The Volunteer Income Tax Program will be available via telephone or in-person at the Civic Centre. Walk-ins will also be accepted. Program opens on March 1, 2024.
Eligibility criteria
*Valid for City of Leduc Residents
Taxpayer status | Family Income |
Single Person | Up to $35,000 |
Two people (e.g. Couple without children, Single adult with one child) | Up to $45,000 |
Three people | Up to $47,500 |
Four people | Up to $50,000 |
Five people | Up to $52,500 |
Six people | Up to $55,000 |
Seven people | Up to $57,000 |
Add $2500 for any additional family members |
Some guidelines do apply: volunteers CANNOT prepare income tax returns with:
- Capital gains
- Interest income over $1,000
- Farming income
- Rental income
- Self-employed income
- Fishing income
- Bankruptcies
- Deceased persons
- Returns over five years old
