Volunteer Income Tax Program
Canada Revenue trains volunteers recruited by Family & Community Support Services to prepare simple tax returns. This program is open from March 1 to Oct. 31 and helps low income individuals and seniors complete their income tax return at no cost. To access a copy of your Notice of Assessment, please contact the CRA directly at 1-(800)-959-8281.
For assistance with your tax return, or to find out if you are eligible for the program, call FCSS at (780)-980-7109. Walk-ins will also be accepted.
Eligibility Criteria for City of Leduc Residents
Individual | Family Income |
Single Person | Up to $35,000 |
Two people (e.g. Couple without children, Single adult with one child) | Up to $45,000 |
Three people | Up to $47,500 |
Four people | Up to $50,000 |
Five people | Up to $52,500 |
More than five people | $52,500 plus $2,500 for each additional person |
Some restrictions apply. Individuals cannot use this program if they have:
- Capital gains
- Interest income over $1,000
- Farming income
- Rental income
- Self-employed income
- Fishing income
- Bankruptcies
- Deceased persons
- Returns over five years old

Note: if the tax return is complicated or does not meet the program guidelines, we will be unable to file the return.
