Community Volunteer Income Tax Program
NOTICE:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Volunteer Income Tax Program will only be available via telephone, starting April 6th. Please call FCSS at 780-980-7109 to access the program and/or inquire whether or not you qualify.
Canada Revenue trains volunteers recruited by Family & Community Support Services to prepare tax returns. This program was created to help low income individuals and seniors complete their income tax return at no cost. For assistance with your tax return, or to find out if you are eligible for the program, call 780-980-7109.
Eligibility criteria
*Valid for City of Leduc Residents
Taxpayer status | Family Income |
Single Person | Up to $35,000 |
Two people (e.g. Couple without children, Single adult with one child) | Up to $45,000 |
Three people | Up to $47,500 |
Four people | Up to $50,000 |
Five people | Up to $52,500 |
Six people | Up to $55,000 |
More than six people | $55,000 plus $2,500 for each additional person |
Some guidelines do apply: volunteers CANNOT prepare income tax returns with:
- Capital gains
- Interest income over $1,000
- Farming income
- Rental income
- Self-employed income
- Fishing income
- Bankruptcies
- Deceased persons
