City announces naming sponsor for spray park
The City of Leduc’s spray park will operate under a new name moving forward: Spray Park sponsored by Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc. The $60,000 naming sponsorship took effect on Dec. 1, 2024, and will span a five-year term. The sponsorship will support the operations and management of the park.
“The spray park is an extremely popular summer amenity for families in Leduc,” says City of Leduc Mayor Bob Young. "We are proud to continue to partner with the Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc, which has a long history of supporting high-quality, community-oriented facilities for residents.”
The Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc has been a sponsor of City facilities for more than 15 years, including spaces in the Leduc Recreation Centre such as the LRC event kiosk and the multipurpose room that supports youth programs, group meetings, training, and special events. They have also administered 50/50 programs for major events in the LRC, and sponsored playgrounds and the rotary clock. Their partnership with the City of Leduc has provided essential financial support to Leduc’s community groups, recreation facilities, and sport tourism events.
The club remains committed to supporting the community and partnering with the City of Leduc as their naming sponsorship moves from the LRC to the spray park.
“The Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc is excited to announce our sponsorship of the Spray Park – Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc,” say Co-Presidents Kasey Kozicky and Jamie McNamara. “We are pleased to share the 2024-2025 Rotary theme of the ‘Magic of Rotary’ and be involved in the enhancement of this popular summer recreation facility offered to Leduc and area families.”
The Spray Park sponsored by Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc is located directly beside the Alexandra Outdoor Pool. A free amenity for the community to enjoy throughout the summer, it is typically open between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. from mid-May to mid-September, weather pending.
A celebration of the naming sponsorship will be held early this summer. Details to come.
