In total, 58 participants provided input, emphasizing a desire to:
- Strengthen and expand industries to ensure a resilient and robust local economy.
- Differentiate Leduc while taking advantage of its proximity to Edmonton.
- Showcase Leduc’s unique assets and advantages to attract and grow businesses.
- Further build what contributes to quality of life (e.g., cultural and recreational opportunities while focusing on complete communities).
- Align workforce skills with the needs of employers in emerging sectors.
- Encourage a mix of higher-density, higher-value, and affordable rental housing options to meet diverse needs.
This feedback will guide the development of the city’s economic development strategy, set to be completed in the first quarter of 2025. The strategy will outline actionable steps to position Leduc as a regional leader in economic growth, workforce readiness, and community vitality.
