The City of Leduc owns and operates the Leduc Municipal Cemeteries.

The East Cemetery, located at 6107-43 St., and the West Cemetery, at 6108-43 St., offer a variety of burial and cremation options, including standard and deep burials, cremation interment, and columbarium niches. Pre-purchasing of plots or niches for future interment is also available, with the Application to Purchase or Inter outlining the associated cemetery fees and charges

From May 1 and Oct. 31, the cemetery office requires 48 business hours notice to schedule interments, and 72 business hours notice to schedule interments from Nov. 1 to April 30.

The cemetery pedestrian walkthrough gates on the east and west side are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Contact the cemetery office at (780)-980-7107 to request to open the drive-through gates.

Commemorative Programs

Leduc’s commemorative programs, such as the Commemorative Forest and Bench Program, offer meaningful ways to honor and remember a loved one through lasting tributes in the community.

Commemorative Forest

The green space will be filled with local trees, shrubbery, and natural urban plants and will allow residents and donators to take time to remember lost loved ones in a green space.
Commemorative Bench

The Commemorative Bench program gives you a permanent tribute to your loved one in one of the City's unique natural spaces. Benches benefit all age groups by providing a resting place along a walking trail or allowing for a place to sit while enjoying Leduc’s green spaces.

Monuments

Monument installation and engraving services must be completed by a licensed monument company. Refer to Cemetery Bylaw 483-2000 for permitted monument size and material specifications. All monuments must state the correct last name as indicated on the burial permit.

A monument installation permit must first be submitted to the cemetery office for approval and a permit fee may apply. Monument installation permits can be submitted by fax at (780)-980-7127 or by email to [email protected].

It is recommended that monument dealers receive an approved monument installation permit prior to manufacturing the monument, to ensure the size and materials comply with cemetery regulations. Monument dealers and funeral homes must also hold a valid City of Leduc business license in order to legally conduct business and services in Leduc.

The cemetery office requires 48 business hours notice for monument installations to allow cemetery staff to mark the plot. Monuments can be installed seasonally on weekdays from 8 a.m. — 4 p.m. Call the cemetery office at (780)-980-7107 to arrange to install a monument.

Hours of Operation

Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. — 4:30 p.m., except on statutory holidays.

The cemetery office is closed from 12 p.m. — 1 p.m. Special arrangements can be made if you need to meet during this time.
