Waste & Recycling for Business

The Eco Station offers all residents and businesses a staffed drop-off location designed to divert a range of material from the landfill.

Materials accepted free of charge

• Blue bag recyclables
• Cardboard (flattened)
• Organic waste including food scraps and small amounts of garden waste
• Household waste, bagged (first bag free; additional bags $2 each).
• Household hazardous waste
• Electronic waste (e-waste)

Load Limit Guidelines for Businesses

The Eco Station accepts quantities of material that would typically be generated by a business in a period of 3 – 6 months. Business owners should arrange with their contracted waste hauler to properly dispose of larger quantities and other types of materials.

• Use a pickup truck, van or car trunk to carry blue bag recyclables, flattened cardboard, computers or vehicle batteries.
• Use good-sized boxes to carry small e-devices, household hazardous waste or rechargeable batteries.

Have larger loads?

Please take larger loads of garden waste to the Yard Waste Transfer Station. Small business owners should arrange with their contracted waste hauler to properly dispose of larger quantities of other materials. The Leduc and District Regional Waste Management Facility (LDRWMF) accepts larger loads of materials (fees apply). For more information contact the Waste Management Facility at 780-612-8500.
