Deer Valley temporary off-leash dog park is now open
The Deer Valley temporary off-leash dog park is now open and will be until this fall, giving Leduc pet owners a new option on the west side of the city to let their pets off leash to exercise and interact with other dogs.
The off-leash dog park is located at the northend of Grant McEwan Blvd., next to the Deer Valley Community Gardens and will be open daily from 6 a.m. - 11 p.m.
The opening of the temporary off-leash dog park is the second phase of the pilot project, which began in fall 2023 when residents were encouraged to share their thoughts on three proposed locations in west Leduc.
Residents are encouraged to share their thoughts of the Deer Valley off-leash dog park with the City through an online survey, using a QR code on one of the poster boards at the Deer Valley site. The feedback received will be presented to Leduc City Council later this fall to inform them of their decision of whether the park should be made permanent.
Pet owners are required to abide by the City’s responsible pet ownerships rules while visiting off-leash parks and must clean up after their dogs.
Leduc also has three other dog parks that residents can use and take advantage of the nice weather during the summer months: The K-9 off-leash dog park, Barclay Park off-leash dog park, and Outlook Park.
