Leduc/Devon Oilfield Historical Society (operating as the Canadian Energy Museum: Home of Leduc #1)
The Leduc/Devon Oilfield Historical Society serves as the governing board for the Canadian Energy Museum: Home of Leduc #1. The museum was opened in 1997 to honor the original location of the historic 1947 Leduc #1, an oil strike that changed the face of oil production in Alberta. Since opening, the museum has grown (and continues to grow) as an interpretive center showing the unique heritage and technology of energy industries in Alberta and Canada. We offer visitors opportunities to learn more about energy heritage through engaging exhibits, interactive activities, and incredible material culture, machines, and artifacts. The Leduc/Devon Oilfield Historical Society endeavors to support the Canadian Energy Museum: Home of Leduc #1 in its mission to engage visitors and communities.
