2022 construction season nears completion
Construction season in Leduc is nearly complete, including road reconstructions, overlays and line work that will support future growth in the City and the longevity of crucial infrastructure.
In total, the City invested $14 million into this year’s construction projects, which were spread throughout the community.
“We are committed to planning for the City’s future growth by ensuring municipal infrastructure is ready for more people to call Leduc home,” says City of Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “We now have a stronger foundation to support us into the future, and as always, we appreciate everyone's patience as another construction season comes to an end.”
Projects of note:
- Leduc Hospital area saw an overhaul of road reconstruction, overlays and underground work.
- Alton drive underwent reconstruction, overlay and the installation of permanent speed tables along Lakeside Estates and Windrose area.
- Caledonia Park roadways received surface overlays to extend the stability of the roads.
- Back lanes in Corinthia and Caledonia underwent reconstruction to ensure continued stability and safety of the lane.
- Traffic signals were installed on 50 Street at Athapaskan Drive and at Bella Coola Drive.
- Multiway connectors were built in Lede Park to tie to the Leduc Recreation Centre parking lot and the ball diamonds.
- Electric vehicle projects will be completed later this year.
Any minor outstanding work, such as landscaping, will be completed in the spring.
