Building for the future with Leduc’s Housing Strategy
Leduc City Council has approved the Leduc Housing Strategy, a plan to guide housing using six priorities to make housing more sustainable, affordable, and inclusive for the growing community.
“The Leduc Housing Strategy is our commitment to shaping a thriving future for our community and ensuring everyone has a place they can call home,” says City of Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “With the community’s population expected to double in the next decade, this strategy will help us make smart decisions to meet the needs of today and the demands of tomorrow.”
The six strategic priorities in the Leduc Housing Strategy are:
- Increase supply of non-market housing.
- Maintain and enhance supply of rental and non-market housing.
- Increase housing options.
- Address housing insecurity and homelessness.
- Continue to deliver exceptional service.
- Promote and focus on location efficiency.
The strategy was built with input from residents, City partners, and a detailed Housing Needs Assessment. It outlines short-, medium-, and long-term actions that will require collaboration, careful planning, and further Council approval through the regular budget process.
