City Activates Extreme Weather Plan
The City is activating the Extreme Weather Plan in response to current extreme winter conditions. The plan will remain active until the morning of Saturday, January 20.
The City's Extreme Weather Plan is activated when, for three consecutive days, the winter weather drops to –20 degrees Celsius with a windchill. When the plan is activated, the following City facilities are made available to those in need for temporary daytime reprieve.
- Leduc Civic Centre 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Monday to Friday)
- Leduc Recreation Centre 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. (Monday to Friday); 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. (Saturday to Sunday); 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. (Statutory Holidays)
The Leduc Hub Association offers overnight shelter in Leduc and has 10 overnight spaces available.
Leduc is a kind, caring and compassionate community that supports all residents, including its vulnerable population. If you know or see someone in our community who needs support during any stretch of extreme weather, please refer them to the Leduc Hub or to the City of Leduc Family and Community Support Services office at the Leduc Civic Centre.
