General residential parking ban starts January 19 for neighbourhood snow removal
Starting January 19, a general residential snow removal parking ban comes into effect as snow removal crews begin entering into neighbourhoods to clear residential roads (priority 4). Vehicles will need to be removed from the road before 4 a.m. to avoid being tagged and towed. Scheduled neighbourhoods will have temporary signs at posted entrances, with dates, to give notice before removal begins. Crews will rotate to the next neighbourhood upon the completion of one.
Vehicles parked along these roads face being towed and fined $250. Towed vehicles will be moved to a nearby cleared street or onto a collector road. Residents can return to parking on the street once the road has been cleared and windrows are removed. The parking ban ends for the neighourhood when signs are gone.
The seasonal parking ban is set to end for collector roads at 2 p.m. on January 17.
Follow the snow remove schedule to stay up to date on when crews will be in your area.
