Help determine if e-scooters are right for Leduc
On Nov. 15, 2021, Leduc City Council voted to move forward with consulting residents on whether e-scooters have a future in the City of Leduc.
Results from an online survey and sentiments collected from an open house will be provided to Council for consideration to help determine if a two-year pilot program will launch in spring 2022.
Residents are asked to provide their thoughts through one or both methods:
- Online survey (till Jan. 10, 2022)
-
Open House on Nov. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m.
In-person at the Leduc Recreation Centre
Online via Zoom
If the pilot is approved, the City will provide the framework, which includes determining factors such as maximum speeds, zone of use, parking areas, permissible pathways and more. Bird Canada – at no cost to the City – will fund and operate the two-year e-scooter pilot program.
The City is exploring e-scooters as an added transportation option, an opportunity to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support for increased tourism and recreation within our community.
