Leduc’s 2021 construction season a success

Thursday, December 2, 2021

With the arrival of winter, the City of Leduc is pleased to celebrate the wrap-up of the 2021 construction season.

It was a busier year than usual, with a total of 22 construction projects completed, including:

  • 11 Road projects
  • 5 Community Development projects
  • 2 Environmental projects
  • 3 Back Lane projects
  • 1 Capital Program project

“This year’s construction season was busy, and each project was vital to ensuring the continued safety, longevity, and quality of our community’s infrastructure for years to come,” said Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “I want to express my appreciation to everyone in Leduc for their patience, cooperation, and understanding while this essential work was completed.”

Project details can be found on the City’s construction webpage, along with a time-lapse video of the Grant MacEwan Boulevard widening project.

Please note:

  • Any minor outstanding work, such as landscaping, will be completed in the spring, which is typical for all construction projects on an annual basis.
  • TELUS PureFibre installation will continue into 2022. TELUS crews will be working until around mid-December to tidy up construction areas (e.g. covering holes) and will return in the spring when ground conditions permit to complete property restoration (e.g. leveling with topsoil, planting grass seed).
