Nominate young leaders for an #Influencers award
The City is calling on residents to nominate outstanding young citizens between the ages of 17 and 21 for a $1,000 bursary awarded through the #Influencers program.
Leduc's #Influencers awards recognize leadership, advocacy and social investment by young leaders in the community.
"We are proud of the positive initiative and influence that youth in Leduc continuously demonstrate in our community," says City of Leduc Mayor Bob Young. "We believe it's important to celebrate their achievements and to continue to inspire and empower positive, community-minded behaviours in youth across our city."
Nominations may be submitted at any time during the year; however, the nomination deadline for recognition in 2024 is April 30. Nominations are reviewed and awarded by the Youth Council's Influencers sub-committee.
Up to four successful recipients will be awarded a $1,000 bursary to help launch them into the next phase of life. Recipients will be presented with their awards at Leduc's annual VolunteerFest event in the fall.
Since the bursary program began in 2022, eight bursaries have been awarded to Leduc's young #Influencers.
