2022 Property Tax notices have gone out
City of Leduc property owners can expect to see their 2022 property tax notices in their mail starting next week. On April 26, Leduc City Council approved the 2022 Property Tax Bylaw and the 2.5 per cent overall tax increase for this year after holding a tax rate of zero for the past two years.
Property tax revenue is distributed to Municipal tax, Provincial Education tax and the Leduc Regional Housing Foundation. Overall, about $51 million will be collected through Municipal property taxes and will fund the City’s operating and capital budget, which oversees services, programs and infrastructure. While around $161,000 will be collected for the Leduc Regional Housing Foundation and $19 million collected on behalf of the Province of Alberta for education.
The payment deadline is June 30. Property owners can pay their notices through a variety of options:
- Monthly Tax Installment Payments (TIPP)
- Online or telephone banking via your banking institution
- In-person at the Leduc Civic Centre (1 Alexandra Park)
- Drop box at the Leduc Civic Centre
- By mail
Property owners who do not receive their tax notice by early-June can call the City at 780-980-7105 or email propertytaxes@leduc.ca.
