Recognize young leaders shaping our community

Wednesday, May 26, 2021

Help us celebrate the young minds and leaders in Leduc who are forging the way forward by honouring them as an #influencer. Nomination are now being accepted for young residents currently in grades 9 through 12 who have stepped up this year. Put forward the individual who is keeping people connected, shown compassion in the face of adversity, or supported others in a year filled with uncertainty. Anyone can submit a nomination to recognize a young leader who may be a family member, classmate, teammate or friend.

“Youth played a major role in helping us stay resilient this past year,” says Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “We are thrilled to have the #influencer awards to acknowledge their valuable contributions and leadership in our community.”

Residents can submit nominations, online, until July 31. All nominees will be virtually recognized for their leadership and positive impacts that they have had on their families, schools, neighbourhoods and friends.

“It is important to celebrate and acknowledge the young people that have really showed up for their families, friends and classmates – especially this year,” says Mackenzie Smith, Chair of Leduc Youth Council. “Inspiring people are everywhere, so be sure to let them know by nominating them!”
