On-ramp to QEII from 50 Street will close April 28
Starting on the evening of April 28, 2023, the on-ramp to the Queen Elizabeth II Highway from 50 Street in Leduc, heading north, will be closed until late summer to accommodate work for the 65 Avenue and QEII Interchange Project.
Motorists can follow posted detour signs to get onto the highway:
- Northbound traffic on 50 Street will turn right onto 65 Avenue (eastbound) and then left onto Sparrow Drive (northbound). Turn left on Airport Road to access the on-ramp to the highway.
- Westbound traffic on 65 Avenue will turn right on Sparrow Drive (northbound) and turn left on Airport Road (westbound) to access the on-ramp to the QEII.
Leduc Transit Route 1 northbound morning service will also be affected by the closure. Buses will be detouring north on 50 Street, east on 65 Avenue, north on 45 Street, and west on Airport Road to get back onto QEII Highway.
The two-year long project will support safety and ease of movement of people and goods upon completion. It will stimulate continued economic development through investment growth, job creation, and diversification in our community.
We appreciate your patience and understanding – we know it will be worth the wait. For details and updates on the progress of the project, visit www.leduc.ca/65ave.
