Apply now for Leduc's new Policing Committee

Leduc residents are invited to apply to participate in the City of Leduc’s new Policing Committee. Applications will close March 21 at 4 p.m.
As outlined in the recently approved Police Committee Bylaw, the committee will:
- Help develop a yearly plan of priorities and strategies for municipal policing in consultation with the Officer In Charge
- Report to Council on matters of public concern as the Committee deems appropriate and in the public interest
- Represent the interests and concerns of the public to Leduc’s RCMP leadership
Requirements for appointment
- Selected committee members will be required to undergo a Government of Alberta security clearance check
- Appointed members must take the Oath of Office described in the Police Act.
- Appointed members must be residents of the City of Leduc for at least six consecutive months immediately preceding the advertisement for applications.
Membership will include four voting members from the public-at-large and one voting member from Leduc City Council. The City Manager and the Leduc RCMP Officer In Charge (or their delegates) will also attend meetings in non-voting, advisory capacities.
