Transportation

As a community, and according to our 2014-2018 Strategic Plan, we define transportation to be:

  • Building on our position as a transportation hub while offering multiple and effective modes of travel, including internal and regional transit.
  • Building effective infrastructure to promote transportation in the city and wider region.

65th Avenue & QE II Highway Interchange

The 65 Avenue and Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Highway interchange is one component of a larger 65th Avenue project, which includes supporting roadways on both the east and west sides of QEII. This interchange is critical infrastructure in supporting safety and ease of movement, and vital to future economic development that will occur locally, at the Edmonton International Airport (EIA) and in the Edmonton Metro region. This interchange is an important part of future trade and transport.

Leduc Transit

Leduc Transit is an inter-municipal transit partnership between the City of Leduc and Leduc County, offering public transit service that connects the Leduc and Nisku areas with stops at the Edmonton International Airport and the Century Park LRT station in south Edmonton. Among the many benefits of public transit, Leduc Transit reduces traffic congestion on main and arterial roadways. Regional transit is also a cost-effective alternative for residents and commuters looking for travel to work and school.
