City launches new recycling app
Leduc residents can find even easier ways to sort smarter with the introduction of Recycle Coach, a sorting and calendar app customized for Leduc’s waste management programs.
The app suits both Apple and Android devices offering users:
- Sorting information to properly recycle or dispose of items
- Customized collection calendars by address
- Optional collection reminders by phone, text or email
- A new tool to report issues such as missed collections
- News and alerts about Leduc’s waste management programs, events and more
The app, which replaces the Sort Smart app, also features voice-activated sorting tips through voice command functions such as Alexa or Google Assistant, keeping both hands free to sort materials.
“Recycle Coach offers Leduc the latest app technology that includes engagement and educational tools to help residents sort smarter and dispose of their materials easily and correctly,” says Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “This new app is one more tool to help our community continue its great recycling, organics separation and waste diversion program.”
Leduc residents can download the Recycle Coach app free of charge at the App Store and Google Play. Check out Leduc.ca for more information and detailed instructions.
Recycle Coach is a Toronto-based technology company with considerable experience in public and private waste management services. It serves more than 3,000 communities across Canada, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand.
