Access to Housing
Housing affordability is not a fixed line; it is a continuum based on household capacity and affordability ranging from emergency shelters aiding people experiencing homelessness to market housing. Success would have individuals and households moving toward more independence.
The City's Homelessness Prevention and Proverty Framework outlines three goals focused on access to housing:
- Make housing more affordable and accessible to for low-income residents
- Provide temporary housing to people who are homeless
- Provide affordable and appropriate housing to people with mental health and addictions
