Donita Large & the Small Band at the Maclab Centre
This Indigenous Series event is “pay what you can,” starting at $5. Proceeds will go to the Indigenous Artist Market Collective (I.A.M.).
Donita Large is a Cree singer-songwriter that can lift the hair on the back of your neck when you experience her singing and feel the story in her songs. Donita has released 3 powerful singles into the universe since the great pause of the pandemic and she is set to release more. Donita’s first single “Going to Walk That Line” hit #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown. After Donita’s first single, she has become a sought-out performer. Donita has sung at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival, Ravenwood Festival, Toronto’s Nuit Blanche Festival, K-Day’s Indigenous Peoples Experience and more.
Join us in the Maclab lobby from 6 – 7 p.m. before the show for a free Metis Dance Workshop. The Interactive Jigging Session, hosted by Connie Kulhavy, consists of sharing traditional dances and Metis history and culture through music. Tickets to Donita Large not required to participate.
