Commemorative Forest
Plant a tree in memory of a loved one
The City of Leduc is pleased to offer residents the opportunity to plant trees to celebrate the lives of loved ones.
The Commemorative Forest will enhance our parks' beauty, provide a variety of ecological benefits, assist with the naturalization of prior farmland, and increase Leduc's tree canopy. The location is also within walking distance to the future cemetery development site.
Residents are able to purchase their named plaque which will be placed at the front of the Commemorative Forest for visitors to see and have a moment of reflection and remembrance prior to entering the green space.
The green space will be filled with local trees, shrubbery, and natural urban plants and will allow residents and donators to take time to remember lost loved ones in a green space.
Learn more about the types of trees available to purchase. A Commemorative Bench Program is also available to residents.
How to Participate?
Applications for the Commemorative Forest program are accepted year-round. Each application must include:
- The text to be inscribed on the plaque
- The application form with your tree/shrub preference (subject to availability and the diversity of the forest)
When we receive your application, we will process it along with the payment and send the plaque proof to production. Trees are planted every year between May-September.
