Traffic Safety
Leduc’s traffic safety program is enhanced through a policing partnership between Leduc Enforcement Services and Leduc RCMP. The goals of this program are to reduce collisions and provide safe roads in the city and surrounding area.
Traffic Enforcement
Traffic safety efforts include key locations throughout the City of Leduc:

| Motorists can expect to see enforcement in school zones when restrictions are in effect. School zones are in effect every school day from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The speed limit in school zones is 30 km/hr. |

| Motorists can expect to see enforcement in playgound zones year round. Playground zomes are in efect every day from 8:30 a.m. to 1 hour past sunset. The speed limit in playground zones in 30 km/hr. |

Fine payment and speeding fines
Distracted Driving
On Jan. 1, 2016 the provincial Distracted Driving Law came into effect with a penalty of $287 and 3 demerit points. If a motorist creates a serious collision while driving distracted, they can expect a $543 ticket, with 6 demerit points for careless driving. Learn more about distracted driving in Leduc.
Other community safety initiatives include:

- Utility trailers, RVs, quads and heavy vehicles
- Child seat safety check in partnership with Alberta Health nurses
