Fire advisory remains in effect in Leduc

Friday, May 31, 2024

As we continue to experience very dry conditions, Leduc Fire Service reminds all residents and visitors of the fire advisory that is in place in Leduc. Under a fire advisory, open-air fire permits and the use of campfires and backyard fire pits are allowed; however, residents are asked to use caution when burning.

Special caution is needed in wooded areas, including around Telford Lake and Deer Valley Park Ravines. At this time of year poplar cotton is predominate in the trail system and highly flammable. Please use caution as even a simple cigarette butt can ignite and start a fire.

Leduc Fire Services responded to four accidental outside fires this week. Through the vigilance of our citizens, our crews were notified quickly and responded before serious property damage could occur.
