Community Volunteer Income Tax Program

Canada Revenue trains volunteers recruited by Family & Community Support Services to prepare simple tax returns. This program was created to help low income individuals and seniors complete their income tax return at no cost.

For assistance with your tax return, or to find out if you are eligible for the program, call FCSS at (780)-980-7109. The Volunteer Income Tax Program will be available via telephone or in-person at the Civic Centre.

Walk-ins will also be accepted.
Program is open from Mar. 1 - Oct. 31.

Eligibility criteria
*Valid for City of Leduc Residents 

Taxpayer status Family Income
Single Person Up to $35,000
Two people (e.g. Couple without children, Single adult with one child) Up to $45,000
Three people Up to $47,500
Four people Up to $50,000
Five people Up to $52,500
Six people Up to $55,000 
Seven people Up to $57,000
Add $2500 for any additional family members  

Some guidelines do apply: volunteers CANNOT prepare income tax returns with:

  • Capital gains
  • Interest income over $1,000
  • Farming income
  • Rental income
  • Self-employed income
  • Fishing income
  • Bankruptcies
  • Deceased persons
  • Returns over five years old
