Spine Road and 65 Ave Roadwork
Reconstruction of Spine Road will see the existing gravel roads from Allard Rod to 65 Avenue, and 65 Avenue from 35 Street to Spine Road become paved.
Roadwork of Spine Road will enhance transportation to the 65 Avenue and QEII Interchange underway. The interchange is expected to be completed in 2025 and will foster trade and improve transportation logistics and access from the Edmonton International Airport and investments to Leduc and throughout the Edmonton Metroplitan Region.

Project Update

| Oct. 2 | Road is open to public traffic. Paving was completed last week, line painting is ongoing. Topsoil is ongoing and anticipated to be complete within the next few weeks. |
| Sept. 25 | Spine Road and 65 Avenue will be open to the public on September 30. |
| Sept. 18 | The final lift of asphalt is schedule to go down on Sept. 25 and 26. The intersection at 65 Avenue and Spine Road will be closed on September 25 and there will be no access thru 65th Ave past Range Road 250. |
| Sept. 12 | Asphalt base lift is complete. Topsoil work is ongoing. Final lift of asphalt is scheduled for late September. |
| Aug. 28 | Gravel will be complete this week on Spine Road. Anticipated completion of the asphalt base lift next week. |
| Aug. 26 | Spine Road construction is ongoing. Base layer paving began last week, with gravel on the southern half Spine to start. |
| July 4 | 65 Avenue has been paved. The intersection of Spine Road and 65 Avenue will be paved today with anticipated reopening of 65 Avenue tomorrow. Spine Road will remain closed for construction. |
| June 27 | Starting the week of July 2, Spine Road (Range Road 250) between Allard Avenue and 65 Avenue will be closed for roadwork until fall. |
| June 20 | 65 Avenue will be paved this week (west of the intersection). Closure of the intersection is anticipated to start next week (June 24-28) for reconstruction. Access through the area will be detoured and local traffic only. |
| June 13 | 65 Avenue, west of the intersection, is ready for gravel. Work on the intersection will start once the forcemain contractor is finished their crossing work. |
| June 6 | Telus relocation is complete. 65 Avenue fill placement is ongoing. |
| May 29 | 65 Avenue fill placement has started. Telus relocates anticipated to be complete by end of next week. |
| May 22 | Excavation of the gravel road and Telus relocates are ongoing. |
| May 9 | Use detour to get around 65 Avenue from 35 Street to RR250 as it remains closed for road reconstruction. Telus is expected to start relocates next week. |
| May 3 | 65 Avenue from 35 Street to Spine Road (Range Road 250) will be closed from May 6 to June 30 as road reconstruction work begins. Motorists should follow posted detour signage to/from Spine Road using Allard Avenue and 39 Street. |
| May 1 | Topsoil stripping has started. Telus relocates to start early May. |
