Southeast Boundary Road (Pioneer Road)
This project includes completing 300m of new arterial road to connect the Highway 2A and Southfork Road intersection to the future Meadowview Stage 17 development, as well as the construction of a new railway grade crossing. The subdivision developer is completing this construction on behalf of the City of Leduc. This road has officially been renamed Pioneer Road.

| September 14, 2020 | On-time | Final lift of pavement at the grade crossing and line painting are complete. Pioneer Road has opened to local traffic. Some work remains, including the remaining landscaping and completion of the multiway between Southfork and the Pioneer Road grade crossing. |
| September 2, 2020 | On-time | Installation of a culvert east of the rail crossing is complete. Construction of a slab-on-concrete median through the rail crossings is currently underway, with the remaining asphalt to complete the crossing and multiway expected next week. Landscaping is ongoing along Pioneer Road and is expected to be complete by the end of next week. |
| July 22, 2020 | On-time | Construction of the multiway has begun along Pioneer Road, with the first section of the multiway planned to be completed next week. A section of the concrete median along the road was vandalized after it had been poured, which will result in a portion of the median being removed and replaced. The west road tie-in to the grade crossing is expected to be completed next week, with the east section being completed in a couple of weeks. |
| July 8, 2020 | On-time | CP Rail has installed the grade crossing surface ahead of their proposed schedule. The first lift of asphalt has been placed on Pioneer Road with the approach to the railway grade crossing to be completed. The multiway along Pioneer Road, landscaping and remaining asphalt are to be completed over the next couple of weeks prior to the road opening to the public. |
| June 24, 2020 | On-time | Conrete medians and curbs have been completed on Pioneer Road. Asphalt is expected (weather depending) later this week, up to CP Rails Right of Way. CP Rail's signal infrastructure has been completed and tested. Until CP Rail is able to install the crossing surface, the grade crossing will remain closed. |

Modifications to the traffic signals at Hwy2A and Southfork Road will begin this week to allow for the future east access. CP Rail and the City will be testing the rail signal infrastructure Friday June 19th, commissioning to follow once construction is completed. Concrete curbs have been poured along Pioneer Road, remaining gravel and first lift of asphaslt to occur within the next couple of weeks. |
| June 6, 2020 | On-time | Subgrade of the roadway that was previously brought to grade last year has now been stabilized and the granular base course has been placed and complacted. Concrete curb and median string lines have been placed with concrete pours expecting to take place in the coming weeks. CP Rail has begun the installation of their grade crossing infrastructure. Gate arms, flashing lights and bells, and the CP signal bungalow has now been installed. The crossing service is to be installed in the coming weeks. |
| Oct. 24, 2019 | In Progress | Underground installation is complete. CP Rail will begin removing overhead lines this week, and grade crossing construction will begin the final week of October. |
| Sept. 30, 2019 | In Progress | Underground installations are ongoing. Watermains are being pressure tested and services to several lots have been installed. Road construction is set to begin this week within the neighbourhood. CP Rail has installed their new underground cable at the grade crossing. Once the cable has been commissioned and the overhead cable is removed, construction of the grade crossing can begin. |
